Inspired by the intrinsic beauty properties of caviar, artist Cyril Lancelin transformed La Prairie’s iconic ingredient into a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.
Digitally created to reflect nature and technology, 219 Spheres showcases the perfection and purity of Earth.
“Art and beauty are indeed connected,” Cyril said. “They are looking at the same question – a search for perfection.”
The La Prairie-commissioned artwork was originally planned for Art Basel earlier this year, however, due to the pandemic, it is planned to be displayed at the FIAC Art Fair, Paris, next month.
“It’s a magnificent immersive art piece – you can actually walk through it,” Ai San Beaumont, La Prairie Marketing & Communications Director, explained.
Not only are the gleaming orbs a representation of the globe on which we live, they are also a tribute to the iconic caviar bead.
The Swiss house’s journey with caviar started more than 30 years ago when it pioneered its inaugural skin caviar product at a time when caviar was something people ate, not put in face creams.
La Prairie CEO Patrick Rasquinet explained the brand’s most renowned collection is about to reach new heights.

“We are here to talk about the most iconic collection of all – the Skin Caviar Collection and one of its most iconic products,” he said. “Skin Caviar Liquid Lift was initially conceived back in 2012 as a tribute, but today this icon is reimagined and is merging two of the most potent and advanced caviar ingredients.”
Skin Caviar Liquid Lift is La Prairie’s number one selling product globally and continues to build a loyal following.
Therefore, it’s no small mission to reimagine its shining star into something even better.
But the 2020 Skin Caviar Liquid Lift does exactly that by infusing two of the Swiss house’s most potent caviar ingredients – Caviar Premier and Caviar Absolute.
“Science never sleeps and, for us, to be at the forefront of cutting-edge caviar science, it had to evolve over time,” Belinda Besant, La Prairie Education Director, said. “We’ve had very luckily 85 years of Swiss science at our fingertips that has gone into creating our luxury collections.
“Of course, at the heart of our luxury collections is our exclusive cellular complex, which is like a complete wellness program for the skin – it gives life and energy to our skin cells.”
Of the uniquely powerful components shaping the formulas in the fabled blue jars, golden caviar is by far the most famous ingredient of La Prairie’s rejuvenating potions.
In a groundbreaking move, the house has sourced caviar from the Swiss Alps to use in its sought-after Skin Caviar Liquid Lift. Harvested in a way that promises the wellbeing of the fish, the caviar is transported a short distance to the laboratories to ensure it’s at its most active and most powerful, and bursting with nutrients.
“If you think about the Swiss Alps – the purity of the air, the purity of the water – imagine the sturgeon we’re using living in its most natural environment as possible,” Belinda explained. “The water has been running in these streams over ancient rocks infused with beautiful minerals, the fish are swimming in the mineral-infused water, which really improves the quality of the caviar – it’s the finest quality of caviar.”
The age-defying serum, which is La Prairie’s biggest launch of the year, promises immediate lifting results in as little as 15 minutes and the best results after eight weeks. Despite a global pandemic, Skin Caviar Liquid Lift’s (A$1005) popularity hasn’t slowed.

La Prairie’s technicians used ultrasound technology to measure the increase in skin density, evident through the decrease in black areas within the ultrasound images. The technicians recorded a 38% increase in dermal density after eight weeks of use.
“Words sound great, but it’s backed up by clinical studies and unequalled results,” Belinda said. “Because science is ever evolving, it’s a great opportunity for us to make our products even better than first thought possible.”
