Saracen Mineral Holdings is exploring around the hidden depths of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, with the help of a strong financial background and an ambitious and extensive exploration program.
As managing director of Saracen, Raleigh Finlayson detailed to The CEO Magazine how he is strategically positioning the gold explorer and producer for its bright future ahead. Rayleigh says that he’s always been passionate about the industry.
“I grew up on a sheep station just outside of Kalgoorlie, so I developed a pretty strong work ethic as a child. I also spent seven years at a boarding school in Western Australia, which gave me an edge of independence at an early age.”
“From there, I studied at the Western Australian School of Mines in Kalgoorlie, and then worked for some of the bigger mining names around Kalgoorlie before transitioning into WMC in Kambalda. I did a stint over in New Zealand for a couple of years at a goldmine in the South Island. I then came back to Western Australia and worked for Panoramic Resources before joining Saracen in February 2008.”
