Elon Musk is set to unveil Tesla’s first electric truck today.
The highly-anticipated reveal of the prototype big-rig at its design studio in California, will take place at 3pm (AEST) and will be live-streamed here.
The Tesla CEO has been tight-lipped on the capabilities of the ‘Tesla Semi’ but said it will “blow your mind clear out of your skull”.

Reuters has suggested it could be self-driving after seeing email correspondence about potential road tests between the car company and the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
Voxsays the Class 8 truck (classification of vehicles that weigh more than 33,000 pounds, including tractor-trailer rigs) is understood to have a rage of 300 miles.
Reuters says “several Silicon Valley companies” see promise in the autonomous long-haul truck industry because of consistent highway speeds and the scarcity of cross-traffic.
“Semi specs are better than anything I’ve seen reported so far. Semi eng/design team work is aces, but other needs are greater right now,” Musk tweeted in October, announcing the second delay.
“It can transform into a robot, fight aliens and make one hell of a latte,” he added on Wednesday.

The billionaire has forecast large-scale production within a couple of years.
